| Though initially I ventured into Nubians in order to improve the quality of my mini-Nubians, I quickly fell in love with the beauty, grace, and gentle nature of these big lovelies. In order to make better, more productive mini-Nubians, it pays to start with the best possible Nubians as foundation animals. I then bred a few just to increase the Nubian herd, and next thing I knew, it was a Nubian takeover! While some people may feel that the size and voice of the Nubian is prohibitive, these goats have a laid-back nature that allows them to be handled and shown by children. And of course, I breed only silent Nubians (NOT!). But really, most learn to speak in 'indoor voices' once the mellow barnyard routine is established. And oh, that milk! My kids are (of course) extra smart, and seem to gravitate to the milkstand at an early age. |

It has not been possible (given other responsibilities and caring for my herd) to make it to shows lately, but my Nubians have the pedigrees and the looks to be very competitive. I strive for big, full-bodied does with great breed character. Wild spots and flashy colors add interest, but correct conformation. pleasing personalities, and plentiful production come first. I strive to breed sound, healthy, happy animals that are as much a part of the family as they are the show circuit. Bucks are raised with as much attention and affection as does; smelly boys need love, too! As a result, my bucks are gentlemen who are very easy to work with and live with. Please pardon, but some of my goaties don't hit the show poses for their portraits...but they like to come as they are. Please just ask if you'd like to see udder pix or milk records (my girls have both). Given concerns for maintaining herd health and happiness, sorry, but PawPawNin is a closed herd and cannot offer buck service. I can offer certain bred does, or you can contact me about reserving a kid from a particular breeding. Thanks for looking; hope you like what you see! |
